ANIMAL WELFARE QUALITY STANDARD – POULTRY
Certification for Responsible Poultry Welfare, Health, Biosecurity and Traceability.
The ANIMAL WELFARE QUALITY STANDARD – POULTRY, developed by MYCERT LTD, provides a comprehensive framework for the implementation and certification of an Animal Welfare Management System for businesses involved in the farming of broiler chickens.
The Standard establishes clear and measurable requirements designed to support high levels of poultry welfare through responsible farming practices, appropriate housing conditions, adequate nutrition and water provision, effective animal health and biosecurity measures, traceability and compliance with applicable national and European legislation.
It also supports businesses in demonstrating their commitment to responsible poultry production, continuous improvement and the production of safe and quality poultry products that respond to the evolving expectations of customers, consumers and the food supply chain.
The certification process includes an assessment of the applicable requirements of the Standard and its inspection criteria.
Where non-conformities are identified during the certification audit, appropriate corrective actions must be implemented before a positive certification decision can be taken.
Following successful assessment and certification, a Certificate of Conformity is issued. The certificate is valid for three years, subject to annual surveillance inspections.
